For a little Thomas & Friends fan, Donald is a familiar friend with a rather unusual story. This strong Scottish engine first came to Sodor with his twin brother Douglas, even though the railway was expecting only one engine! After showing just how Really Useful they could be, both brothers earned a permanent home on the Island of Sodor.
Donald is Sodor’s Number 9 engine and a dependable worker who is happiest getting an important job done. He pulls heavy goods trains, carries railway supplies and even helps clear snow from the tracks. Donald may sometimes get into a spot of mischief with Douglas, but when hard work is needed, he is an engine his friends can count on.
This motorised Donald toy train comes with a cargo car carrying a load of coal for his next railway job. Little engine drivers can flip the switch on top and watch Donald set off under his own power, ready to make a delivery or begin another imaginative Sodor adventure.
Donald can run freely around the room or travel on compatible Thomas & Friends track, excluding wooden track. His plastic connectors allow children to attach compatible engines, vehicles, cargo cars and tenders, each sold separately. Add Douglas and other familiar friends to create longer trains and even more railway stories.
Designed for preschool children aged 3 years and over, Donald encourages imaginative storytelling, fine motor skills and enjoyable repeat play. He requires 2 AAA alkaline batteries, which are not included. Toys101 sells suitable AAA batteries separately, so Donald can get straight to work when he arrives.
