When Did Utahraptor Live?
Utahraptor lived during the Early Cretaceous Period, around 139 to 135 million years ago. That was millions of years before the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex appeared!
What Did Utahraptor Eat?
Utahraptor was a carnivore, which means it ate meat. It probably hunted plant-eating dinosaurs, using its powerful jaws, sharp teeth and the huge sickle-shaped claw on each hind foot to grab and hold its prey.
How Big Was Utahraptor?
This was no little raptor. Utahraptor could grow approximately 5 to 7 metres long and may have weighed around 500 kilograms. It was one of the largest raptors ever discovered and was much bigger and heavier than Velociraptor.
Where Did Utahraptor Live?
Utahraptor lived in what is now Utah in the United States. Its fossils have been found in ancient rock formations that were once part of a rugged landscape of rivers, floodplains and open woodland.
