When Did Pachycephalosaurus Live?

Pachycephalosaurus lived during the Late Cretaceous Period, around 70 to 66 million years ago. It was one of the last non-bird dinosaurs and shared its prehistoric world with Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops and Ankylosaurus.

What Did Pachycephalosaurus Eat?

Pachycephalosaurus is usually described as a herbivore. Its small, leaf-shaped teeth were suited to eating leaves, seeds, fruit and other plant material.

However, some scientists think it may also have eaten insects or small animals when the opportunity arose. Until more complete fossils are discovered, its full menu remains another Pachycephalosaurus mystery.

How Big Was Pachycephalosaurus?

Pachycephalosaurus grew approximately 4 to 5 metres long and may have weighed around 370 to 450 kilograms. It walked on two powerful hind legs and used its long tail to help balance its body.

Where Did Pachycephalosaurus Live?

Pachycephalosaurus lived in what is now western North America. Its fossils have been discovered in places including Montana, South Dakota, Wyoming and Alberta, where it inhabited forests and broad river floodplains.
