LEGO Icons Mayor Manor 11383 opens the door to Midnight Valley, a new seasonal collection designed to bring Halloween into the adult LEGO display calendar. Just as the Winter Village series has become a Christmas tradition for many builders, Midnight Valley begins a darker annual ritual filled with crooked buildings, mysterious residents and atmospheric details. As the first release in the collection, Mayor Manor is where the story begins.

This is a particularly exciting set for Halloween fanatics and adult collectors who enjoy building their own LEGO City displays. Place Mayor Manor at the end of a quiet street, behind an overgrown cemetery or overlooking the rest of your city from a shadowy hill. Its gothic personality makes it an impressive seasonal decoration on its own, but it also has the scale and architectural presence to become a permanent landmark in a larger LEGO diorama.

The substantial 1,420-piece build is shaped around deliberately distorted architecture, with tilted angles, an asymmetrical facade, weathered textures and an old tree growing into the brickwork. Creating convincing crooked walls with rigid LEGO elements is no simple task, so builders can expect clever techniques hidden beneath the unsettling exterior. Inside are 2 furnished storeys containing a suit of armour, fireplace, framed artwork, bookshelf and a grandfather clock frozen at midnight, along with plenty of hidden surprises waiting to be discovered.

Three glow-in-the-dark minifigures bring the manor to life after the lights go down, accompanied by cat and rat figures that add further personality to the scene. Measuring over 30 cm wide, the finished house makes striking Halloween décor for a shelf, desk or LEGO City display. With LEGO indicating that Mayor Manor will be phased out at the end of December, this first Midnight Valley set has an unusually short four-month release window.
