This Mario Kart – Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo playset lets kids aged 7–8 jump straight into character-driven racing fun inspired by the Mario Kart world. Designed for confident builders, it blends hands-on building with imaginative role play, encouraging kids to create their own race moments, challenges, and victories.
The focus here is playful experimentation rather than winning at speed. Kids can replay the action, adjust their aim, and invent stories around Donkey Kong’s adventures, helping develop coordination and creative thinking through repeatable play.
The set includes a brick-built DK Jumbo kart driven by a Donkey Kong figure, plus a buildable target and a Banana element with a face decoration. Kids can launch shells from the kart to knock the Banana off the target, practising timing and accuracy. Adding LEGO Mario, LEGO Luigi, or LEGO Peach (from sets 71439, 71440, or 71441, sold separately) unlocks interactive Mario Kart sound and visual effects, including race starts, drifting, honking, and Donkey Kong reactions.
Building instructions are included in the box and available on the LEGO Super Mario app, along with ideas to expand play. This set also connects naturally with other LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart vehicles and characters (sold separately), giving kids plenty of room to grow their racing world.
