Street to Strip — Stars & Stripes SRT Demon

Some cars are fast. The Demon was built to terrify timing equipment. At a glance it looks like a wide, mean Challenger with bold red, white and blue graphics, but underneath is something much more specialised — a machine engineered to launch brutally hard, run devastating quarter-mile times, and still legally drive home afterwards. That was always the Demon’s party trick. With the right parts fitted, it could turn into a full drag-strip weapon, then be converted back for road use when the racing was done. In this Stars & Stripes release, the graphic treatment feels more like an aggressive race livery than anything overtly patriotic, and it suits the Demon’s focused, no-nonsense character perfectly.

About the Real Car

  • Model: 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon
  • Engine: 6.2L supercharged HEMI V8 (front-mounted)
  • Power: Approx. 603 kW on 91-octane fuel, or 626 kW with Demon Crate high-octane setup
  • Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive
  • Highlights: Purpose-built factory drag car that remained road legal; TransBrake and Drag Mode; street-legal drag radials; optional Demon Crate with front-runner wheels, high-octane tune, intake parts, and track tools; one of the most extreme production muscle cars ever built

Factory Drag Car, Number Plates Included

The SRT Demon was one of the wildest production cars Dodge ever created. Unlike the COPO Camaro, which was a track-only machine, the Demon kept its number plates and road registration while still being engineered specifically for drag racing. Dodge equipped it with specialist launch technology, lightweight drag-focused hardware, and a setup aimed squarely at straight-line performance. That balance between legality and lunacy is what made the Demon so special.

The optional Demon Crate added another layer to the story. For a token extra cost, owners received the parts and tools needed to unlock the car’s full track potential, then return it to road trim once the day was done. That made the Demon feel like a modern interpretation of old American drag-racing culture — dramatic, clever, and completely over the top. In this Stars & Stripes set, the real attraction is not the flag reference so much as the celebration of one of the most outrageous factory muscle cars of the modern era.
