The Drift King’s Weapon — Nissan 350Z Custom

Low, wide, black, and unmistakably menacing, DK’s Nissan 350Z looks every bit the car of Tokyo’s self-proclaimed Drift King. The aggressive wide-body kit hugs the ground, the towering rear wing leaves no doubt about its purpose, and the beautifully intricate graphics twist across the bodywork in an asymmetrical design that rewards inspection from every angle. In The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, this was the car to beat — fast, intimidating, and controlled by the driver who ruled the city’s underground drift scene. It remains one of the most recognisable machines in the entire Fast & Furious franchise.

About the Real Car

  • Model: Nissan 350Z Custom
  • Driver: Takashi, also known as DK
  • Movie: The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
  • Engine: 3.5L naturally aspirated V6
  • Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive
  • Highlights: VeilSide Version 3 wide-body styling; large competition rear wing; low drift-ready stance; intricate black and silver graphics; one of the franchise’s most famous villain cars

Built for the Drift King

The Nissan 350Z was already a natural choice for drifting. Its front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, strong V6 engine, balanced chassis, and short proportions gave drivers an excellent foundation for controlled oversteer. DK’s car took those qualities and wrapped them in a body designed to project authority.

The wide arches, dramatic aerodynamic additions, and enormous rear wing transformed the compact Nissan sports car into something genuinely threatening. In the film, the 350Z became an extension of DK himself: composed, aggressive, and completely confident in the world of underground Tokyo drifting.

Two Sides of the Same Icon

The asymmetrical graphics are what make this Hot Wheels release especially striking. The detailed artwork flows differently across each side of the casting, meaning the full design cannot be appreciated from only one angle. Collectors who keep the model sealed will enjoy the dramatic card presentation, but opening the blister reveals an entirely different view of the car.

That makes this one of those rare releases where loose display has a real advantage. Turn the model around and new details appear, allowing the complex livery, wide bodywork, wheels, wing, and drift-car stance to be viewed as a complete design rather than a single packaged profile.
