Han’s V10 Masterpiece — Lexus LFA
Some cars need a dramatic chase scene to become memorable. The Lexus LFA needs only to start its engine. Seen near the end of Fast Five with Han Seoul-Oh behind the wheel, the LFA perfectly reflects his effortless style: rare, sophisticated, enormously capable, and never trying too hard to attract attention. Beneath its sculpted carbon-fibre body sits one of the greatest engines ever fitted to a road car — a naturally aspirated V10 that revs with extraordinary speed and produces an unforgettable mechanical howl. Its appearance may be brief, but the choice of car says everything. Han had the freedom to drive almost anything, and he chose one of Japan’s finest supercars.
About the Real Car
- Model: Lexus LFA
- Engine: 4.8L naturally aspirated V10
- Power: Approx. 412 kW
- Torque: Approx. 480 Nm
- Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive
- Production: Limited to 500 examples
- Highlights: Carbon-fibre-reinforced body and chassis; rear-mounted six-speed transaxle; front-mid-mounted V10; carbon-ceramic brakes; one of Japan’s most celebrated supercars
An Extraordinary Japanese Supercar
The LFA was developed as a clean-sheet demonstration of what Lexus could achieve when cost, convention, and normal production expectations were pushed aside. Its engineers spent years refining the carbon-fibre structure, chassis balance, aerodynamics, and unique V10 engine in pursuit of one goal: an unforgettable driving experience.
The engine was developed with Yamaha and became central to the car’s legend. It revved so rapidly that Lexus used a digital tachometer because a traditional analogue needle could not respond quickly enough. Compact, light, and capable of reaching 9,000 rpm, the V10 delivered a sound unlike almost anything else on the road.
Although the LFA’s immense development cost and limited production made it extraordinarily expensive when new, time has been very kind to it. Today, the LFA is widely regarded as one of the greatest Japanese performance cars ever created and a defining achievement for the Lexus marque.
Han’s Choice in Fast Five
The LFA appears near the conclusion of Fast Five, when the crew is shown enjoying the freedom created by the successful Rio vault operation. Han drives the car along a European motorway, continuing the journey he always intended would eventually take him to Tokyo.
It is a short appearance, but a memorable one. The refined and exceptionally rare Lexus suits Han perfectly, combining understated confidence with remarkable performance. Rather than choosing something loud or obvious, he drives a supercar appreciated most deeply by enthusiasts who understand what makes it special.
Why Collectors Will Love It
The LFA’s compact proportions, low roofline, sculpted air channels, and distinctive rear bodywork translate beautifully into approximately 1:64 scale. Fine exterior detailing captures the purposeful shape without losing the elegance that distinguishes the Lexus from more theatrical supercars.
Metal/Metal construction gives this Hot Wheels Premium release a substantial collector-quality feel, while Real Riders rubber tyres and detailed wheels complete the presentation. For Lexus enthusiasts, Han fans, and collectors of famous Fast & Furious vehicles, this is a miniature tribute to a brief but perfectly chosen movie car.
